  • Recruitment and applicant selection
  • Original appointments
  • Promotions, demotions, terminations, reinstatements and transfers
  • Staff development and training

We monitor and assure departmental compliance with federal and state law, rule, policy and procedure relating to:

  • Equal employment opportunity
  • Affirmative action
  • Civil rights

We are the liaison between the Department of State and the:

  • Department of Management Services
  • Department of Financial Services
  • Office of the Auditor General
  • Florida Commission on Human Relations
  • Public Employees Relations Commission
  • Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
  • American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)

Department Operational Services

We administer and coordinate:

  • Purchasing
  • Property and surplus property
  • Mail
  • Maintenance and repair
  • Office services
  • Telecommunications

We also:

  • Coordinate procurement practices
  • Formulate bid specifications and manage the bid process
  • Develop and review sole source procurement requests for justification and sufficiency
  • Manage the department’s leasing program, including office space and equipment

We are the liaison between the Department of State and the:

  • Department of Management Services
  • Department of Financial Services
