- Pay plan and payroll
- Recruitment and applicant selection
- Original appointments
- Promotions, demotions, terminations, reinstatements and transfers
- Staff development and training
We monitor and assure departmental compliance with federal and state law, rule, policy and procedure relating to:
- Equal employment opportunity
- Affirmative action
- Civil rights
We are the liaison between the Department of State and the:
- Department of Management Services
- Department of Financial Services
- Office of the Auditor General
- Florida Commission on Human Relations
- Public Employees Relations Commission
- Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
- American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
We administer and coordinate:
- Purchasing
- Property and surplus property
- Mail
- Maintenance and repair
- Office services
- Telecommunications
We also:
- Coordinate procurement practices
- Formulate bid specifications and manage the bid process
- Develop and review sole source procurement requests for justification and sufficiency
- Manage the department’s leasing program, including office space and equipment
We are the liaison between the Department of State and the:
- Department of Management Services
- Department of Financial Services
