New Elections Website and Voter Education PSAs Released
The Florida Secretary of State Kurt Browning has released four public service announcements to explain Florida’s optical scan systems, the importance of updating voter registration information, closed primaries and voting in general. These announcements are available in English and Spanish as well as digital formats.
The Department is distributing the public service announcements through the cable and public broadcasting channels as well as government, educational, hospital, internet and other channels or venues. The PSAs have also been distributed to all of the local supervisors of elections for use on their websites or local media and can be viewed on the Florida Department of State channel on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/FloridaDeptOfState .
In addition, the Division of Elections website – Elections.myflorida.com – has been redesigned to make finding information on Florida elections easier for all of its users. A Media Room Page - Elections.myflorida.com/media - has been added to put the most frequently accessed information by members of the news media in one area.
"With Election Day just around the corner, Floridians should get their registration forms to their supervisor or if already registered, make sure their information is up-to-date," said Secretary Browning. "The Department of State and all of Florida's counties are working hard to make sure that everyone who wants to vote will be able to cast their ballot on Election Day."
