Secretary of State Kurt S. Browning Announces Senior Management Team

Secretary of State Kurt S. Browning is pleased to announce new members of the senior management team at the Florida Department of State.

“The Florida Department of State has an incredibly experienced and dedicated staff serving the citizens of Florida,” said Secretary Browning. “We will continue the tradition of quality customer service in all of our divisions and I am confident the new organizational structure will provide greater accountability to the citizens we faithfully serve.”

Beginning Monday, January 8, Dawn Roberts will begin serving as Assistant Secretary of State and Chief of Staff. Roberts most recently was the Director of the Division of Elections.

In other changes/additions, I welcome the following three individuals to the Department of State team:

  • Jennifer Kennedy will serve as Deputy Secretary of State responsible for Corporations and Elections
  • Judi Spann will serve as the Department of State Communications Director
  • Amy Tuck will serve as the Director, Division of Elections

JuDee Pettijohn will continue in her role as Deputy Secretary of State responsible for Historic Preservation, Cultural Affairs, and Library and Information Services.

The Department of State is made up of five unique and diverse divisions. Senior management for the divisions is as follows: Judith Ring, State Librarian and Division of Library and Information Services director; Sandy Shaughnessy, director, Division of Cultural Affairs; Fred Gaske, State Historic Preservation Officer and director of the Division of Historic Resources; Jay Kassees, director, Division of Corporations; and Amy Tuck, director, Division of Elections.
