Description

The Arts & Business Council of Miami is seeking a Director of Programs & Events. We are searching for an experienced and dynamic candidate with exceptional coordination skills and ability to multi-task. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all operational facets of the Arts & Business Council’s signature programs and events. This position requires a person who is self-motivated, detail oriented, highly organized and dedicated to empowering the creative ecosystem.

We are leading the movement to build a sustainable cultural ecosystem through advancing high-impact partnerships between business, entrepreneurs and the arts. For 40 years, we have played a leading role developing programs that bring together business and arts for effective and mutually beneficial outcomes. We assist over 500 arts groups through executive consultancies, leadership training, audience development, workshops, forums, curated outreach and networking events. Now more than ever, we are helping keep the arts in business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and lead the execution of the organization’s signature programs.
• Establish innovative programs to meet the vital needs of our core constituents.
• Design and implement the annual Miami Arts Marketing Project conference, LABS and virtual sessions.
• Oversee and fully manage Breakfast with the Arts series and networking events.
• Organize relevant forums, panels and programs throughout the year.
• Amplify relations with business to cultivate task force members and speakers for programs and events.
• Expand Creative Happy Hour experiences with our partners.
• Elevate events and programs with promotional plans including digital marketing, advertising and outreach.
• Advance partnership opportunities for events and programs.
• Set program and event goals and assess regularly. Provide annual tracking and analysis of success.

SKILLS:
• Proven experience planning and implementing successful events and programs.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including corporate leaders, business volunteers, arts professionals, arts enthusiasts and creatives.
• Proficient developing event timelines, assigning tasks, working with steering and planning committees, assessing
success and evaluation.
• Knowledgeable in all facets including speakers, venue set up, AV, run of show, registration, participant experience.
• Experience hosting and producing Zoom events and meetings.
• Marketing and outreach skills to promote events and programs in collaboration with marketing staff.
• Abilities to develop sponsor and partner opportunities for events and programs with the growth committee.
• Strong written and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders, creatives, arts
professionals, artists, sponsors, and volunteers.
• Strategic and creative thinker with innovative vision and affinity for out-of-the-box thinking.
• Competency in using software including Microsoft Office and Google Forms and documents.
• Highly motivated, self-starter with self-discipline and capacity to work independently with small support staff.
• Ability to prioritize and follow through to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 2 years experience in program development and events management
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working in the arts, creative ecosystem or related field
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus

DETAILS:
The salary range for the Director of Programs and Events is $40,000 to $45,000 commensurate with experience, plus, a benefits package that includes paid health insurance, vacation and holidays. There is an opportunity for bonuses and growth in the organization. This is a full-time position with some flexibility for partial remote work opportunities.
